Welcome to Shades of Gold’s

Golden Retrievers.  We are a small hobby breeder of golden retrievers located in southern California (north San Diego county). We love these amazing dogs and have been actively showing and breeding them for over 10 years.  Our pups are raised in a loving home environment and are very well socialized! The parents have been OFA certified for hips, elbows and heart and with CERF for eyes. Since we only have a few dogs, availability of puppies is infrequent. But feel free to contact us with questions or to be put on a wait list for our next litter. Our dogs are our pets first, but they also compete in the show ring. Our newest puppy, Kobe, is currently out in the show ring and pointed toward his champion title! He got his first major in Long Beach before the Eukanuba show.  Our first golden, CH Granhill's Grandslam Hitter "Buddy", won Best of Winners at the 2005 Western Regional Specialty!  He was a once in a lifetime dog and although he is now gone, his spirit lives on in his amazing puppies!

May 20:  Charley competes in her first show at SD Specialty!  6-9 mos 3rd place.

Jan 29:  Kobe wins WD and Best of Breed!

Dec 13:  Kobe wins BOW! Another 2 pts!

Dec. 2:  Kobe wins WD at Long Beach! It’s a major!

Nov. 13:  Kobe takes WD at Wine Country KC!

Oct 30 &31: Kobe takes WD and BOW! 2 more points!

Oct. 21:  Kobe takes reserve WD at Skyline KC a major!

Oct. 17:  Kobe takes WD at Two Cities KC!  First point toward AKC Champion title!

May 23, 2010:
Kobe takes second at the Mt. Palomar AKC Dog Show!  At his first show competing with the big guys- Open Dog class- Kobe takes second place!  He is still puppy like, but able to compete with the big dogs!

April 17-18, 2010:

Riley, Lily and Scarlett compete at the International Show. Riley took Best of Breed and a group placement and earned his Int. Champion title!  Lily and Scarlett also earned their Int. Champion titles!
